Connecting a laptop to the USB ports

Oscilloscope App

The Scope app lets you connect to an AC voltmeter or an AC ammeter and see an oscilloscope trace of the voltage wave or the current flow. The app only shows the wave shape, the vertical axis values do not relate to any real world values. In other words, if the voltage was halved, the top of the graph would stay in roughly the same place.

An image of the trace can be given a title and saved to disk.

There is no need to install the software, just unzip the NordyBits Scope directory to a suitable location and run NordyBits Scope.exe

The top left of the Scope window lists the available communications ports. COM1 is the built in port that is unlikely to be the one connected to your NordyBits meter. When a USB cable from a meter is plugged into the PC, another COM port will be added to the list. Select it and press Connect.
