Since I began this little business, the majority of NordyBits orders have shipped to the United States — and I'm very grateful for that support. Unfortunately, it will no longer be possible to continue supplying the US market.
New US customs rules taking effect on 22 October 2026 remove the simplified process that I use to ship parcels into the US. From that date, our products — like most imported electronics — will need to go through formal customs entry, backed by a licensed customs broker, a US import bond, and full regulatory compliance filings on every shipment.
We looked hard at what it would take to keep serving the US market under the new rules: registering as a non-resident importer, obtaining US regulatory approvals, and paying a broker to file every single order. The reality is that these costs don't work on a product with our margins.
So, with regret, NordyBits will no longer be able to ship orders to the United States after 12 October 2026.
We'll keep shipping normally everywhere else in the world, and if the rules change again — or if a workable path for US shipping opens up — we'll be the first to let you know.
